Bowater Motor Group

We have been working witBowaters Motor Group Logoh the Bowater Motor Group and specifically Bowater Toyota since 2004, doing assorted advertising, design and promotional work for them. This has included various magazine and newspaper ads, logos, promotional flyers, invitations, cards and newsletters.

The most recent project was the development of their new corporate logo, as shown at the start of this article. This was an exciting job as it gave us the opportunity to create a revitalised brand for a well known, local family business. The brief was concise - to modernise the brand whilst still maintaining a visible connection to the previous incarnation. We all felt it was essential to maintain accessibility to this new logo as the old one had been in use for a number of years and had wide recognition.

Bowaters 60th Anniversary LogoBack in early 2007 they approached us to design a new version of their logo to commemorate their 60th anniversary. This had to reflect the event whilst still being based on their existing corporate logo.
To the right is the logo we developed and used in all of their promotional material over that year. We chose to develop this commemorative logo representative of a badge one would expect to see attached to a car, afterall their business is the business of cars - for over 60 years!

The 2008 Bowater Calendar.

The commenorative logo project led to the design of a 2008 calendar we created for them to use as a value added gift & sign of appreciation to their clients, as a celebration of their 60th anniversary.

It showcased the widespread participation and support that the Bowater Motor Group offers the Nelson community with it's various sponsorships, and was a true token of their generosity and community spirit.

It was a vehicle for increasing public awareness of some of these community groups they support such as Age Concern,  Nelson Economic Development Agency, Youth Yachting and events they sponsor such as the The Nelson JazzFest and the Nelson Arts Festival.

The Calendar received wonderful response and was an excellent example of effective corporate promtional material. Surprisingly, due to the large number printed, it ended up being quite cost effective compared with the traditional "watercolours" generic calendar's that get tossed around with companies logo's printed on the bottom.

It is great working with long established companies - they really know their product as it has stood the test of time.
