This just came through, an email from the Yellow Pages group advising of a 2nd email hoax. This kind of thing is alarming, and we all need to pay careful attention to everything, including invoices! Hit the Read More to see the email. Beware of invoice hoax
Yellow® has been made aware of a second scam in the form of an invoice, requesting payment that appears to have been sent from Yellow. This fake invoice is being sent to Yellow customers by postal mail with the purpose of scamming money. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Scam Watch and the Police have been notified.
The invoice claims to be sent on behalf of and in the name of Yellow Publishing Ltd. This is not the same company as Yellow Pages Group® Ltd. It gives instructions to make payments by cheque to Yellow Page Marketing B.V, Plaza Level, AXA Centre, 41 Shortland Street, Auckland 1010.
If you do receive an invoice, please do not make any payment. This invoice is falsely claiming to be sent from Yellow and is charging for a 12 monthly listing fee.
The scam invoice displays a logo which looks like the real Yellow pages® logo but is upside down.
If you have any concerns, please contact our Customer Assist Team on 0800 803 803 or the New Zealand Police.
Yours sincerely Bruce Cotterill Chief Executive Officer Yellow® |
