Found this really interesting clip regarding how we choose to perceive time. Different cultures have different time perceptions.

This is all directly related to how we live our lives, our experience of self created stress, and the pace of life.

Some bits of this clip go off on a tangent (in my opinion - catholic vs protestant - WTF!!) but the section dealing with the cultural experiences of time is interesting.
Minimising deadline stress out of our lives is a key driver for me at the moment - stress is such an overkill of a reaction. We are all guilty of submitting into it, but it really comes down mostly to how we perceive and value our time that we are reacting to.
