Friday's Honey-dripping Music FHM: Tribute Video's, the good the bad and the ugly.
This is a very clever video. And a very clever poster that I have also included as a two for one deal.
Click on the image to see it in all of it's glory. This poster has done the rounds lately as a bit of a viral thing - download it, print it and stick it up around your hometown for a bit of a laugh. Make some one's day with a free smile.
But back to the reason we are here - the music video. Someone has taken the time to piece together this classic old love song with bits thieved from classic TV / Film moments. 45 of them apparently. See how many you know - there are some real gems amongst it all. It must have taken them ages, or they had a very fantastic memory for particular lines in a massive mental back catalogue of cinematic history! Like always it is hard to find the actual source of the video, there are several copies of this scattered around.
This is one of the joys of the world we live in though - all of this history is pretty much at our collective fingertips. Video sharing sites like Youtube mean that if you can dream it you can make it. Enjoy!
This of course means that we are now going to have to go looking for more.
With material like this to work with you can be sure that there are a million versions of this song out there, but what is going to be the most entertaining?
The first place to start is with the original. You just can't beat the class and style of Lionel Richie in his prime, but man this is layered with extra cheese.
This song has inspired some terrible remakes over the course of the last couple of decades. It seems that they are all by there very nature just shocking. Like this one - Daddi Don Performs His First Single "Hello" Off His Album Tears Of Sorrow. It gave me tears of sorrow watching this. Really. Is this serious?
and then off course there is the obligatory ROCK cover......
