Not only do statistics back up trends, but in some ways they can also influence and maintain them. Take the case of social media. It has become a form of social addiction across the world at the moment, with so much of the entire population of the planet now connected to each other via some form of social media interactivity. It has even been suggested that access to the internet, or lack thereof, is a basic "human right" and denial of such is a cause for concern in the wider global community (case in point the switching off of the internet during the Arab Spring uprising in some countries of the Middle East). It is not until you see some of these figures in the video below that you begin to understand the amazing reach that this new form of communication and connectivity has. Not only has the internet revolutionised the way information is shared, the advent and uptake of social media has likewise revolutionised the way in which we interact on a personal and business level. Social Media like Facebook and Twitter is all good for keeping in touch with your family and friends, but it is also fast becoming a must have in the marketers arsenal when it comes to promoting businesses online. Do you now feel better informed and motivated to get more social media profiles, or at least better use the ones you already have? Over the last year we have been taking on more clients to manage their social media requirements on a professional level. This means we take care of the creation and maintaining of a variety of social media accounts depending on specific needs, and in some cases we can even manage the generation of content and the subsequent posting to the social media accounts. As a comparison and some motivation watch the same channel's presentation on the state of social media from 2009 - it is astounding the jump in numbers over this time.
