Wednesdays Weird Web Thievery: Secret Facebookers & live news feeds.

Given that over 500 million humans are now thoroughly addicted to Facebook it is easy to understand how images of inappropriate Facebook use continue to pop up.

Today's one made it's way onto blogs last week during the historic last Space Shuttle launch of Endeavour. Seems that the operator of Payload Deploy & Retrieval felt all the boxes were ticked during the launch sequence so time to cruise Facebook for a quick check up. Sweet. The must have a pro Facebook policy at NASA, the site appears to be not blocked, and the staff quite comfortable using Facebook during work hours.
You would also think that all of the people in the room would be well aware that there every move was not only being videoed, but also beamed out to millions around the world.
There you go, NASA endorses workplace Facebook.

At least it was Facebook and not porn, or naked images of Miranda Kerr, like the Macquarie Bank worker that can be seen looking a nude photos in the background during a live cross to Martin Lakos of Macquarie Private Wealth.
Bummer. Busted.

That live link gone wrong in question went viral early last year and did the rounds all over the world.
The power of social media also meant that alot of major TV Networks also picked it up and the poor man in question (David Kiely) suffered considerable public humiliation. But he did also get public support from Miranda Kerr who weighed in on the matter.
The incident in question begins about the 1 minute mark of the interview.

Don't you just love how someone let him know he was on live TV and he turned around knowing full well what was about to come. Busted.

As for the Space Shuttle launch - loving youtube on this.
Once again amazing footage posted by NASA that enables us to share this marvel of technology on our blogs. It is always a treat when this kind of footaged is shared rather than that annoying "Embedding is disabled by request of the copyright holders" notice that is coming up more and more these days.

Just for good measure and because I just love all of these Space Shuttle videos that are available, here is the view from inside the cockpit looking out as if you are a strapped in ready for launch. What appears in the windscreen is a flight checklist on the inside. For most of the video I was thinking what are they looking at, surely the view out of the windows would be clear. Becomes apparent toward the end.

and the view of the astronauts being chucked around during launch.

and finally the sound. This is taken from the press site over 3 miles away.
Imagine what it must sound like closer.

from the IMAX camera. This sound is awesome, and the IMAX experience must be the closest one gets to the actual experience. Use DJ quality headphones for this one!
