WikiLeaks Documentary released: view while you still can

wlogoWhat fantastic timing these producers have, but how long will it last is the million dollar question?

In the midst of all of the scandal surrounding WikiLeaks this documentary team has released an intimate and in depth look behind the scenes at WikiLeaks and it's key people. We think it is vitally important that we, as a collective society get to know exactly what goes on behind closed doors by governments on our behalf, after all in most cases the ideal is that governments are put in place to serve the people that elected them to office, not keep them in the dark and operate clandestinely.

One thinks that the latter is perhaps more the case more often than not.

From summer 2010 until now, Swedish Television has been following the secretive media network WikiLeaks and its enigmatic Editor-in-Chief Julian Assange.

Reporters Jesper Huor and Bosse Lindquist have traveled to key countries where WikiLeaks operates, interviewing top members, such as Assange, new Spokesperson Kristinn Hrafnsson, as well as people like Daniel Domscheit-Berg who now is starting his own version - Openleaks.org!

Watch it now folks whilst you have the chance, as the general trend with WikiLeaks is that such pieces of information contain a little too much information, and generally end up the subject of rigorous attacks to suppress it.
You can be sure this will be quite a fleeting opportunity to see this before it is taken down by youtube for contravening some rule about disclosure.

There is an intriguing look into Julian Assange's past as a successful hacker in his youth, and how this has impacted on his current role as editor in chief of whistle blowing, information sharing website WikiLeaks.

This documentary is in 4 parts and will take what looks like over an hour to watch - but what an hour that will be for you! As the WikiLeaks saga continues to unfold this kind of information will give us all a clear understanding of the overall situation from both sides of the battle.

This is just part 1. We have also embedded parts 2-4 as well.
These are very worthwhile, it will be an hour and a bit well spent being educated on the corruption and political postering that goes on around us every day that most of us are completely unaware of, and those fighting to see that information gets to see the light of day.

Why are we posting all of this WikiLeaks stuff?
We think that this best illustrates the power of the internet and social media. For right or wrong, whether or not the information has value or has been conveniently served up via WikiLeaks to act as a tool of distraction, the case still remains that this whole saga has really shown the collective power that this new media and technology has. Enjoy it while you can. It is apparent that the Net Neutrality Bill being tossed around in the US at the moment will put a lid on all of this.
