Have you ever found yourself on the receiving end of the posts you mistakenly made at 2am after a night of partying? Made some unfortunate comments on the facebook page of an ex after coming home from a bar..... We are sure that there is a definite market for this product; a sobriety test that protects you from yourself and from posting potentially damaging posts that you may regret later. You set it up to protect sites like facebook, Twitter and the like between a set period of time (like 1am - 5am) and if you want to access one of those sites you need to perform a sobriety test. Fail and it posts "David is too drunk to post right now". Cool - that is a great status update! So is this real, or a clever gimmick to get you to look at their website? Real or not? It is made by the makers of Webroot < http://www.webroot.com >- a software security provider. It is a very clever marketing tool - the actually social media protection product is a gimmick as it really doesn't do a lot in regard to offering any real online protection, but it has certainly made a splash in the blogsphere. The clip was posted to youtube late last week and is already popping up on all sorts of websites. Before this I had no idea of the company or products that webroot offered. You can check out and download the firefox plugin at http://socialmediasobrietytest.com/
