| BMW ad - for real? |

This came by way of one of "those emails" that we all get on a seemingly daily basis, but it does illustrate an interesting point. Sex sells, but at what point does it cross an imaginary line and become distasteful? Is this ad distasteful, or cleverly aimed at a specific market in a specific platform (like an adult 'men's' magazine like Ralph, FHM or Playboy)? Controversy is a wonderful thing when it comes to creating a buzz about a new product or brand, but one really does have to be careful that the buzz created is a positive one. I have not got the inclination to find out whether or not this was an actual ad for BMW or just something someone did as a school project, a joke, or as a corporate counter-terrorism marketing programme.
