The SPCA and Hill’s™ Pet Nutrition will be celebrating their national pet Adopt-a-thon on 13 and 14 February in SPCA centres nationwide. Hill’s™ Pet Nutrition is the exclusive feeding sponsor to the SPCA, providing pet food supplies for SPCA animals awaiting their forever families.

Last year twenty SPCA centres participated in the first-ever Second Chance for Love event, with over 500 lucky animals finding their forever homes. This year, nearly thirty SPCA’s will play match-maker, with the aim of finding soul-mates for even more animals. SPCA National Chief Executive Robyn Kippenberger says, “With more branches participating this year, and help from the public, I am sure we can double last year’s total and find families for 1,000 animals. I would encourage anyone thinking of adopting a pet to take this opportunity to visit our centres and find their perfect match.”

And Second Chance for Love isn’t just for the animals – people will have fun too. Volunteers will be playing Cupid at each participating SPCA centre, sharing information on how to care for new four-legged additions to the family, and there will be opportunities for two-legged family members to win spot prizes and giveaways of Hill’s™ pet food.
